Our Network is GREEN!
Jorge pool takes responsibility and is active in protecting the environment by employing servers and network infrastructure that are 100% Green electricity!
Taking responsibility for the environment means there is an increasing need to obtain energy to run our network (and for that matter, any and all of Cardano's other SPO networks too) from renewable sources. Jorge pool uses energy from renewable sources to power the servers that are used to secure the network
Typically most SPOs won't provide the details of the infrastructure and servers they are using for secuirty concerns. This is a true and valid concern since all SPO public relays can suffer DDOS attacks. However, since our public relays are easily identified by their IP addresses and since we have mitigated for security attacks on our servers (we operate at least one or more passive non-public relays) we can easily provide our "Green Credentials" below.
Our first relay, which operates out of Finland, uses wind and hydropower for all of its energy uses. Our power provider is the Finnish energy company Oomi Oy.
Our second relay, which operates out of Germany, uses hydropower. Our power provider is Energiedienst AG, a TÜV certified company that generates green energy from 100 percent carbon dioxide-free and environmentally-friendly hydropower.
What about our Block Producing and Passive relays?
In the case of our "hidden" servers (absolutely required for security concerns) we operate them off completely different network infrastructures. The best we can indicate as to our green credentials for those is to point to the main website of Equinix Green Data Centers.
